Sleepless Nights in Seattle

Today I slept in my car for few minutes at my apt parking lot.

Currently I am undergoing sleepless nights at Seattle. A Stressful day and driving back home in a bumper to bumper traffic, it sucks.

I was drowsy while driving back home from office. Thank god it was safe reach. Glad that I am not staying far from my office.

Sleepless Nights, that’s weird to me. Well the reason for that is 2 fold, one side extended off shore calls J (good part) and other hand stress at job (bad part). I need to restore back to my normal sleep hours. While driving, if I get sleep then most of the time I used to pull over to the shoulder and sleep for some time and then resume driving. Folks, hope you might have come across few sleepy drive, you are open to share your drowsy drive on highways :)-

I still remember my brave trip from Washington DC to New Jersey in year 2002. I drove all alone.

I started my journey back from NJ to DC around 2 or 3 am in the morning. Till 5 am I was so active. After 5 it became extremely difficult to drive. I felt drowsy all the way till I reach DC. A few times I changed lanes without my knowledge.

I made a few stops at service area. I even tried smoking. Nothing really helped.

Luckily I reached safely. That was the only time I felt drowsy ever.

Would you please get rid of that stupid 'word verification' thing?

That's painful.

This will be my last comment, if you are not removing that.

Even I have experienced a Brave drive. But the place, situation was slightly different...

The place is very familiar to you. The great road from Periyar Bus Stand to Thirnagar. The exact location is the turning of the Petrol Bunk near our college.

It was about 11:00 PM. I was driving my vehicle. (Do not imagine any Hi-Fi American vehicle. It is my Pet TVS 50) It had no breaks or no lights. The only part working is Auxilator. There were no lights in the road also.

I was feeling very sleepy. (Guess the reason yourself!!!) Somehow I managed to keep my eyes open. Suddenly I crossed a small roadside temple. I have the habit of closing my eyes for a second and pray when I cross the temple.

So, Unconciously (my bad time) I closed my eyes. But I could not open it due to drowsiness. When I opened my eyes, people were standing around me. Only then I knew, I met with an accident.....

Now a days, If I feel tired or drowsy, I would not go out or better prefer a Public transport system...

Sarang,

Well I am not driving any American Hi-Fi car, mine is Toyota Coralla which is probably can be considered as TVS Suzuki in India.

TVS 50 is a great bike too :)-

Your narration about accident was good.

I have a great experience driving entire night till early morning. It was from Texas to Santa fe (new mexico) trip.

I took the car around 11PM in the night. It was fun driving on the straight and trafficless road by Dodge SUV in 120 miles/hr. We were heading towards north. At around 3AM when we reached a village i felt almost drowsy. The navigator in the next seat slept with dreams.

There was a road work and they redirected the traffic to take left and right and go straight (from south to north). I didn't want to disturb anybody in the car, So decided to manage and followed the signal. In a turn i took left instead of right which took me to the south and was driving back to home. I didn't realize until i reached the same place where there are 3 highways meet in a junction.

It was 4AM by that time when i took a U turn to catch the same road. Finally, we reached the same village again at 5AM. I couldn’t control the sleep. The car entered in to the Mc'Ds restaurant without my knowledge and stopped in the parking.

In the evening, i was trying to recall myself how i reached that village. Ooops,I found i have no memory what happened after that U turn. Believe me; i slept after 4AM till 5AM while driving. I still feel that it was a miracle that i haven't met with any accident.
I stopped driving car in the late night afterthat.
